About 40 miles southwest of Cologne in the middle of the Nationalpark Eifel and close to where the rivers Urft and Olef meet, you will find the “Kurparkhotel Gemünd”. There are 42 square miles of nature in the region, which is the size of 17.000 football fields. You can start your trip from our hotel and explore tomorrow’s primeval forests on foot. Even today, you can find wild cats, black storks, and about 1000 other threatened species in the nature preserve. Furthermore, you can have a unique view on the dams of Rursee, Obersee and Urftsee.

“Kurparkhotel Gemünd” invites you to range the woods and the wild nature of the Nationalpark Eifel. You can hike or cycle on the premium trails „Wildnis-Trail“, „Eifelsteig“ or „Rur-Olef Route“ through romatic brook valleys and wonderful beech forests, without the lack of comfort and service of a hotel.

Only a few hundred feet away from our hotel, there is the “Nationalpark-Tor Gemünd”, the gate to the national park. There, you will get information about every opportunity the Nationalpark Eifel offers. For example there is the possibilty to join a ranger nearly every day of the year and explore the national park, for free and without previous notice. Furthermore, our on-site vehicle pool can carry you to your selected spots from where can start your individual hiking tour and afterwards you will be picked up by us.

Whether you are seeking relaxation or you want to go hiking, or even if you are on a business trip, we are sure that you will appreciate the amenities as well as the friendly and familiar atmosphere in our professionally managed hotel that is aligned with ecological aspects.

Among other things we provide our guests an on-site relaxation area with a sauna.

Our breakfast leaves nothing to be desired. Organic cereals, traditional “Eifel”-bread and Fair-Trade coffee; we serve what you like. Every room is equipped with cable tv, telephone and free Wi-Fi.
